Nutritional Counseling

Confused about what to eat and what to avoid? A registered dietitian can help. RDs are food and nutrition experts who help patients set and prioritize their eating goals. RDs work in a variety of settings including hospitals, long term care services, and community health facilities. RDs hold a bachelor’s degree with a major in nutrition or dietetics and an accredited certification.

Registered dietitians:

  • Develop safe, effective weight loss/maintenance or diabetes management plans
  • Focus on plan monitoring and maintenance
  • Use creative strategies to help with meal planning, label reading, grocery shopping, food journaling and mindful eating
  • Provide sound, easy to use nutrition advice
  • Help patients sort through nutrition misinformation
  • Create individualized dietary recommendations
