Structural Heart and Valve Clinic

Cardiac patients with structural defects and complex valve disorders are evaluated for treatment in the structural heart clinic. Specialists in this clinic utilize advanced techniques for:

  • Atrial and ventricular septal defects
  • Mitral regurgitation
  • Left atrial appendage occlusion
  • Severe aortic stenosis

New Option for Severe Aortic Stenosis
Patients unable to have open heart surgery to treat severe aortic stenosis may be candidates for transcatheter aortic valve replacement, a less-invasive procedure performed in Lutheran Hospital's hybrid cath lab. Referred patients are evaluated in the structural heart clinic to determine the best treatment option. A recommendation will be provided to the referring physician.
